Dates: Late-June - Mid-September 2025 (these dates can be flexible to accommodate the right candidate).
Closing Date: Sunday 11th May. We reserve the right to close applications earlier if we receive sufficient applications.
Location: Hybrid, the successful candidate must be able to travel to central London to support CGP events and work alongside our team as required.
Salary: London Living Wage.
Timeline: Interviews will be held during the week commencing Monday 19th May and we expect the position to be filled by the end of May for a start date of Monday 23rd June 2025.

About You
This internship would suit someone with an interest in developing a career in either international development, politics, foreign policy, research, policy, advocacy or government relations. No prior experience is needed, just lots of interest, energy and a positive attitude. You may be studying a related field (although this is not a requirement) or just be interested in gaining work experience in the sector, either way we would love to hear from you!
The Internship
Our intention is for this to be a full-time 12-week internship, starting on the 23rd June until 19th September 2025. These dates can be adjusted to accommodate differing university term dates or other commitments, if necessary. Applicants will require their own laptop with access to the internet, in order to login to our cloud based system remotely. This is a hybrid position, with some remote working, whilst including an ability to travel to Westminster, London, to support our events and work from our office.
To protect the UK’s soft power and international commitments, our small yet dedicated team works with the policy makers, politicians and journalists to support and promote UK aid. We organise a number of public and private events with high profile speakers throughout the year. The intern will work closely with our Senior Researcher to help with a range of responsibilities in an exciting and fast-paced environment in order to effectively assist the team.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shadow and support colleagues working across the areas of research, operations, events and communications in order to gain experience and understanding of all areas of our work, supporting a range of tasks and working on larger projects.
Desirable Skills
Basic IT competency
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as Google Workspace (gmail, google drive etc)
Proficiency with social media platforms such as X (Twitter) and LinkedIn
Good research skills
Independent worker, self-starter who can take responsibility for projects through to completion
Strong attention to detail
The internship will entail a broad range of tasks and training will be provided on any software that you are required to use. The types of tasks you will assist with will include:
Conducting desk-based research
Researching event topics and themes
Drafting speaker briefings
Supporting our Senior Events Officer with drafting event proposals
Supporting with event logistics
Assisting with our monitoring and internal evaluation records
Drafting content for our social media accounts
Watching debates on key issues in parliament and taking notes to share with the team
Keeping up-to-date with parliamentary and global issues
Writing opinion pieces for our website
