Thomas Nurcombe: Did the King’s visit to America reaffirm the importance of soft power?
CGP’s Research Manager, Thomas Nurcombe, has contributed a short piece to the Council on Geostrategy’s Big Ask, exploring whether the King’s State Visit to the United States in April 2026 reaffirmed the importance of soft power. Thomas argued that if the UK fails to increase its strategic value to the US, the damage to the relationship could prove irreparable, and no amount of soft power could compensate for that.
