Lisa Nandy MP in Washington DC with CGP

The Coalition for Global Prosperity hosted Lisa Nandy MP, Shadow International Development Minister, in Washington DC to attend the World Bank Spring Meetings and carry out a number of engagements in her role as a Shadow Minister.

Alongside meetings with key World Bank officials, Lisa met with World Bank President Ajay Banga, Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Mottley, Achim Steiner, ​​Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UK Ambassador to the United States Dame Karen Pierce, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Amina J. Mohammed and Melinda Gates alongside many other key figures from think tanks, NGOs and Government.

The visit focused on the strength of the US-UK relationship, the ongoing invasion of Ukraine, the Israel - Gaza conflict and climate. Lisa was also able to set out her vision of what Labour’s International Development policy would look like if Labour win the upcoming UK General Election.
